Dossier
The light machine gun is a suppression tool. It does not fire precision shots. It fires enough shots fast enough that the people on the receiving end cannot move, return fire effectively, or maintain their position.
The operational use case is holding ground, covering an extraction, or denying a position. Not taking one. The weight and feed system make aggressive movement difficult. Static deployment is the intended application.
In Vice County it appears at the heavy end of criminal operations and in N.O.O.S.E. tactical loadouts. When either of those appears in an engagement, the situation has already escalated past the point where a carbine resolves it.
