Justice, Officially
Rockstar put a name on the sound of GTA VI on October 29. The original score is composed by Justice, the Grammy-winning French duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The launch trailer had already used their single, and the launch trailer breakdown flagged them as the composers. This is the post that makes it official.
A Score That Adapts
Rockstar calls it an adaptive score: expansive compositions, all dynamically tuned to the different ways players engage with Vice City and Leonida through Jason and Lucia's story. Justice bring their signature sound to it.
The Album, December 11
The official Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score album comes out on December 11, three weeks after the game, on all major streaming services and on CD and vinyl. There is a special limited Triple Crystal Clear vinyl. It has 30 tracks, with a number of digital bonus tracks across all formats.
Two singles are out. "Flower in a Hurricane", featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, is the one from the launch trailer. The new one is "Pusher", featuring Gesaffelstein, which debuted on October 29. Rockstar points to its Music section for the pre-save and the pre-orders.
Score, Album, Radio
Three separate things carry the sound of the game. The score is Justice's adaptive music, 30 tracks. Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album is the other soundtrack release, 34 original tracks across a wide roster of artists. And the radio is the six named stations and the first podcasts, covered in Six Stations: Leonida on the Dial. Our April look from before any of it was announced is in Music of Leonida.
