Six Stations, Named
Rockstar put the first six radio stations on the Newswire on October 8. It describes the full lineup as the biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio the series has had, with stations dedicated to everything from Classic Rock to Talk Radio. Six are named so far. The rest are not.
Who Is on Air
Cocoteo FM. Modern Latin music, from bachata and merengue to dembow and reggaeton. Hosted by El Martillo and La Gata.
Back Country Radio. Renegade country from MW and Delta Dawne, aimed at the Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, and beyond. Their roving reporter and swamp meteorologist, Mud Dog Mike, checks in from an airboat in the Grassrivers.
AfroBank FM. African music from twentieth-century classics and undiscovered gems to amapiano and 3-step. Burna and Palmsy run it.
The Chamber 106.6. Metal, with DJ Kerry and DJ Tom channelling Leonida's deep metal roots.
Flash FM. Pop, from a Vice City institution. Robyn and Alex host.
Dirty South Classics. Regional rap and hip-hop classics from Trick and Trina, the beach to the block.
Podcasts, and Earbuds
For the first time, a Grand Theft Auto game adds on-demand podcasts next to the radio. Radio and podcasts both play in vehicles and on foot, through newly introduced headphones and earbuds connected to Jason's and Lucia's smartphones.
What Rockstar Has Not Shown
No track lists for the radio. No names for the remaining stations. No podcast titles. Rockstar says more singles from Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album are still to come. The Album carries 34 original tracks and can be pre-saved or pre-ordered on vinyl and CD.
The score is a separate piece of the sound. On October 29 Rockstar named Justice as its composers and described it as adaptive, with a 30-track album due December 11. That is covered in Justice Scores Leonida. Our April look at the trailer-era picture, from before any station was named, is in Music of Leonida.
