North Beaches is the northern stretch of the Vice City coastline, running from the upper end of the South Beach tourist strip to the point where the city gives way to the wider Vice County geography. The architecture changes as you move north: the density of the Art Deco tourist strip drops, the residential buildings become more prominent, and the beach itself becomes more accessible to people who live in Vice City rather than visit it.
Vice City has always used the distinction between tourist-facing coastal zones and the residential beach communities behind them. North Beaches is the latter. The sand is the same. The infrastructure is different. Fewer hotels, more apartment buildings, fewer tourist bars, and the specific kind of beachfront business that serves people who live within walking distance rather than guests with a departure flight tomorrow.
The northern margin of the North Beaches transitions toward the Vice County residential fringe. The urban grid becomes less consistent here. The streets that run perpendicular to the coast lead into Vice County territory rather than deeper into the Vice City metro.
On the Ground
The residential character of North Beaches means the environment is less surveilled than the South Beach tourist strip. The businesses have standard VCPD coverage rather than the tourist-zone intensity that keeps the more visible parts of the coastline tight. Less foot traffic means less witness density at the right hours.
The beach access is open at this end of the coastline. No hotel perimeters or promenade infrastructure limiting direct beach access. The waterfront is accessible from the residential streets without navigating tourist infrastructure.
Vehicle access through the North Beaches residential grid connects to the Vice City arterial road network and to the Vice County boundary roads moving north. The grid is regular and the exits are multiple.
