The Gauntlet Hellfire is the muscle car. The supercharged V8, the rear-wheel drive, and the wide body that communicates what is under the hood before the engine starts. The Challenger SRT is the real-world reference and the Hellfire captures the specific character of the Hellcat variant: more power than the rear wheels can always use, delivered with a supercharger whine that Vice City hears from the next block.
The muscle car formula is the opposite of the European sports car approach. Maximum power, minimum aerodynamic complexity, rear-wheel drive, and the handling that follows. The Gauntlet Hellfire makes the formula work by committing to it entirely.
The Vice City strip is the Gauntlet's natural environment. Long straights, traffic to navigate around, and the specific audience that the muscle car generation performs for.
