Field Assessment
The Ruiner carries the Firebird's legacy directly. The Trans Am generation of the Firebird is what the original GTA Vice City was set against: the car of Miami Vice, the car of the era, the car that the Vice City of the 1980s put on its poster. Returning it to present-day Leonida gives it the patina of something that survived everything the city went through.
The V8 and the rear-wheel drive are the classic muscle formula. Not the fastest car in a straight line against the modern performance roster. Not the most sophisticated through the technical sections. The most characterful V8 soundtrack in the Leonida vehicle population and the car that Vice City recognizes the moment the engine starts.
The Ruiner's place in Leonida is both practical and narrative. It works as a daily driver in Vice City, and it reads to series veterans as a marker of exactly where this lineage runs deepest.
