Field Assessment
The Sheriff SUV is the VCSO's standard patrol vehicle. The Tahoe platform: four-wheel drive for the Vice County roads, the SUV capacity for the equipment and the occasional prisoner transport, and the law enforcement package that marks it as a county sheriff vehicle.
In Vice County, the Sheriff SUV is the equivalent of the VCPD's Police Buffalo: the ambient law enforcement presence on the roads outside the city limits. The response time is longer than the VCPD's but the vehicle is present throughout the county network.
The four-wheel drive gives the Sheriff SUV capability in the Vice County terrain that the rear-wheel drive police cars lack. Wet fields, unpaved access roads, and the rural conditions that call the VCSO out at night are all within the vehicle's capability.
