The swing arc is wide enough to catch someone moving to the side. The weight favours downward strikes on anyone who gets in close. Against a single opponent in a confined space it is more decisive than it looks. Against a group it becomes a problem quickly.
Vice County law enforcement classifies it as a sporting item. That classification holds right up until the moment it does not.
