Two Days Early

Rockstar posted it on the Newswire and on X on November 3. Digital pre-loading for GTA VI starts Tuesday, November 10, not the November 12 date that came with the pre-order announcement in June. Players get nine days with the file instead of seven.

Source, Confirmed
The date, the start times, and the file size come from Rockstar's Newswire post "Grand Theft Auto VI Pre-Load Begins on November 10" and the matching post on Rockstar's X account. Rockstar points players to its Support site for the steps.

The clock

Local Midnight, Or Midnight GMT

The two consoles do not start together. On PS5, pre-loading begins at midnight local time in your own time zone, so the start rolls around the world and New Zealand goes first. On Xbox Series X|S, pre-loading begins globally at 12 a.m. GMT. One moment for everyone.

For Xbox players that is 7 p.m. Eastern and 4 p.m. Pacific on Monday, November 9, and 1 a.m. Central European Time on Tuesday. Rockstar names no hour beyond that, and nothing in the post changes the unlock itself.

The size

212 GB, Up To

Rockstar says the pre-load file will require up to 212 GB depending on your device, and asks players to have space ready so the download can start straight away. It gave no separate figure for PS5 and Xbox, so the top number is the one to clear on either console.

It is the first size Rockstar has published. Until November 3, every number in circulation came from somewhere else. Our download size page now carries the official figure, and the download time calculator starts at 212 GB.

Analysis
A PS5 has about 667 GB of usable storage. 212 GB takes roughly a third of it. On an Xbox Series X, with 802 GB usable, it is about a quarter. GTA V on the same consoles sits near 90 GB. If the drive is close to full, clear space before midnight on the 10th, not after.

Boxed copies

No Disc, Same Download

Code-in-box versions for both consoles should be available from retailers beginning November 12. The box holds a download code, not a disc, so a boxed copy pulls the same files as a digital one once the code is redeemed. The details are in the physical edition FAQ.

Day one

Still Locked Until the 19th

Pre-loading puts the files on the console. It does not let anyone play. GTA VI unlocks on November 19, region by region, and the unlock times by country are laid out in one place. Rockstar has not announced any early access, as covered in the early access FAQ.

Also in the post

A Poster and a Map

On November 19, Rockstar will add an official printable GTA VI cover art poster and a map of Leonida to the official site as a free digital download. A double-sided physical version follows shortly after launch from the Rockstar Store, for $0.99 on its own or free with any purchase from the Rockstar Store.

Source, Reported
The poster and map details come from the same Newswire post. No second approved source has covered them yet.
Analysis
An official map of Leonida lands the day the game does. Every reconstruction made from trailers and screenshots gets checked against it, our own geography of Leonida included.
