Leonida Profile

Vapid is the manufacturer whose vehicles appear most frequently in Vice City from the widest range of angles. The police interceptor in the rear-view mirror. The muscle car at the red light. The pickup in the Vice County farm entrance. Vapid is the automotive wallpaper of Leonida and the brand has been this across Leonida.

The police contract is the foundation of the business. VCPD, the Leonida State Police, NOOSE: all of them drive Vapid. The manufacturer also sells muscle cars to the civilians who are periodically pursued by the police variants of the same platform. The engineering team has been aware of this since the first patrol car contract and has never raised it as an issue.

The brand name. The cars are functional, durable, and successful. The brand chose to call itself Vapid. Whether this is commentary on the brand's real-world equivalent or a commentary on the Vice City consumer who buys American without considering the alternative is a question the brand name leaves permanently open.
