The Tailgater presents nothing that would identify it as faster or slower than expected without knowing the specific model. The A6 platform: front-wheel-drive based AWD, four-door executive proportions, and the Audi characteristic of not announcing itself.
In Vice City the Tailgater is the executive car that appears in the financial district, at the airport, and at the hotels where the business traveller demographic stays. Not the most expensive option. The most sensible one. The Tailgater is chosen for the same reason the Audi A6 is chosen in real life: it does everything correctly without making the purchase a statement.
The AWD system makes it the most capable executive sedan in wet conditions in the Vice City vehicle roster. South Florida weather creates the conditions where this matters periodically.
