Field Assessment
The Cabrio is the Comet S2 for the Vice City context. The coupe makes sense anywhere. The Cabrio makes sense specifically in the environment where the air is warm, the coast road is clear, and the alternative to leaving the roof open is a decision that requires explanation.
The structural compromise that any convertible makes relative to its coupe equivalent is present in the Cabrio. The chassis is marginally less rigid, the weight distribution shifts slightly, and the aerodynamic behavior at speed changes with the roof position. None of this matters on the Vice City coast road at a legal speed. All of it becomes relevant if the speed exceeds that.
The Cabrio is the car that Vice City bought for the lifestyle and kept for the performance. The roof goes down, the Comet S2 engine note fills the open cabin without the coupe's insulation, and the Vice City waterfront provides the scenery that makes the combination complete.
