No Official PC Specs Yet. Here Is What the Evidence Suggests.
Rockstar has not announced PC system requirements for GTA 6. No PC release date has been confirmed. The game launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. A PC release is expected to follow, based on the pattern of previous GTA titles, but has not been officially dated.
This article covers what the console hardware tells us about the computational demand of Leonida, what the visual targets from the trailers imply about PC requirements, and what independent analysts have projected as a minimum and recommended specification baseline.
What PS5 and Xbox Series X Tell Us
The PlayStation 5 runs a custom AMD Zen 2 CPU at 3.5GHz with an RDNA 2 GPU delivering 10.28 teraflops. The Xbox Series X runs a similar AMD Zen 2 CPU at 3.8GHz with an RDNA 2 GPU at 12 teraflops. Both machines use high-speed SSDs as a core architectural assumption. The game is built for these specifications as the floor.
A PC targeting equivalent performance would need at minimum a GPU in the RTX 2070 or RX 6700 class, a modern multi-core CPU in the Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-12th generation range, and fast NVMe storage. These are floor estimates based on console parity, not the recommended specification for the visual targets the trailers show.
The Map Implies the File Size
GTA V on PC required 65GB at launch, expanding with updates. The confirmed geographic scope of Leonida, covering Vice City, the Keys, the rural interior, the mountain terrain, and the full coast, is substantially larger than GTA V's map by community estimate. A base install size of 100-150GB is a reasonable projection, assuming audio, texture streaming, and map asset density scale proportionally.
SSD storage is strongly recommended based on the open-world streaming demands visible in the trailer footage. The level of environmental detail and the speed of environment loading implied by the footage is unlikely to run smoothly on a mechanical hard drive.
