Behavior and Threat Profile

Brown pelicans are Florida's most recognisable coastal bird. They sit on dock pilings, they patrol the marina in loose groups, they dive vertically into the water for fish with a precision that looks like it should fail more often than it does.

In Leonida the pelican is everywhere the water is. Vice City marina, the Keys channel crossings, the open beachfront. The flock behaviour and the diving sequence are both visible in the official footage.

They are not dangerous. They do not react to the player with any aggression. As an environmental species they are the signal that you are near the coast, which in Leonida means you are near most of the game.
