Completely still. Watching the water. The heron is the most patient animal in Leonida. Whatever it is waiting for eventually makes a mistake.

Behavior and Threat Profile

Great blue herons stand approximately one and a half metres tall. They are the tallest bird most Leonida waterways will produce. They stand at the water's edge in complete stillness, sometimes for extended periods, then strike with the bill at a speed that is difficult to track.

In Leonida they are at the edges of the canals, on the marina dock posts, along the Grassrivers margins. Any slow water with accessible fish populations will have a heron somewhere in the shot if you look.

They do not react aggressively to the player. They flush at a moderate approach distance and relocate to another section of the waterway. They are ambient detail of the highest quality: they look like the animal they are supposed to be, they behave like the animal they are supposed to be.
