Behavior and Threat Profile

Vice City has squirrels in the same way Vice City has traffic and weather and radio stations playing from open windows. They are part of the environmental texture. They are on the branches, on the benches, on the bin lids in Leonida's parks.

The behaviour AI is reactive and fast. Any approach sends them up the nearest tree or across the nearest fence. They can read the direction of a threat and route around it. They do not simply flee in a straight line.

As small game they technically qualify for hunting mechanics. In practice, the challenge of targeting something that fast and that small with anything larger than a suppressed pistol makes them a novelty target rather than a hunting objective. The satisfaction of attempting it is the point.
